Early literacy builds the foundation for academic achievement.
Davis School District’s Family Literacy Nights help families support children’s reading and learning from the earliest years through elementary school. Families will participate in hands-on activities, learn practical strategies and choose four sessions tailored to their child’s age, grade and learning needs.
Sessions are designed for children ages 0–3, ages 3–5, kindergarten and first grade, and second and third grade. Sessions will be offered in English and Spanish, with interpretation available in additional languages.

Today our students and teachers joined the Utah Statewide Readathon, hosted by Governor Spencer Cox and First Lady Abby Cox, celebrating the joy of reading and the importance of lifelong literacy. It was a wonderful opportunity to slow down, read together, and celebrate books! 📖❤️

On October 2, our students will join the Utah Statewide Read-A-Thon, a celebration of reading for all ages hosted by Governor Spencer Cox and First Lady Abby Cox! The event encourages a love of reading, lifelong literacy, and connection through books.
Our teachers will make the day special by celebrating the Read-A-Thon in fun and creative ways right in their classrooms. And there’s an extra reason to get excited—students who participate will receive a special prize from Mrs. Lynne, our school librarian! 🎉📖

Reminder: Tomorrow, September 17, is individual picture day! All students will have their picture taken for the yearbook at this time.
Our annual Martin Luther King, Jr Speech Contest will be held at our school on October 23. Application, rules, and the sign-up sheet will be posted outside Mrs. Stone's room, classroom 13.
Students may also obtain copies of Martin Luther King, Jr. speeches from Mrs. Stones.
