This summer, Syracuse Jr. High will be holding a basketball camp for 2026-2027 6th-9th graders.
6th graders are a key age group that will build interest in the sport and help the teams plan for the future.

Here are the 3 things to know for the week of April 6, 2026:
1) Seussical - Our school play is this week, and we can’t wait to see our students shine on stage! Performances will be held Tuesday through Thursday, April 7–9, from 6:30–8:00 PM.
2) On Tuesday, our 4th–6th grade students will participate in a brief, age‑appropriate Gun Safety lesson at the end of the school day. This lesson is required by the Utah legislature and focuses on safe behavior around guns. Information was emailed home to all parents of 4th–6th grade students. Parents can choose to opt out of this lesson. Please reach out if you have any questions.
3) PTA meeting will be held on Friday, April 10th at 9:15 AM at the school. We hope to see you there.

Three Things to Know for the week of March 22, 2026:
1. Special Community Council Meeting – Tuesday at 4:00 PM
We will be holding a special Community Council meeting on Tuesday at 4:00 PM in the library. During this meeting, our council will vote on next year’s Trust Land Funding and School Improvement Plan. Only the council members will vote, but all community members are invited to attend.
2. 5th & 6th Grade BTS Dance Performance – Friday, March 27
Our 5th and 6th graders will present their BTS Dance Performance on Friday, March 27 at 9:30 AM in the gym. Families are welcome to join us and cheer on our students!
3. Parent Support Needed: Restroom Behavior
We are asking parents to please talk with their children about appropriate behavior in the school restrooms. Recently we have seen significant messes, large items being flushed down toilets, and even damage—including large cracks in the porcelain from students climbing on fixtures.
Our staff has been working hard to improve this situation, and we appreciate your partnership in reminding students to use restrooms safely and respectfully.

Here are the 3 things to know for the week of March 16st 2026
1) This week on Tuesday the 17th Utah will be holding Caucus meetings across the state. These usually take place at 6:00 or 7:00 pm. No school activities will be held to allow you to attend your caucus meeting.
2) District Book Battle is at Farmington High on Friday, March 20th at 4:00 pm. Best of luck to all our students participating!
3) RISE end-of-year writing assessment is underway this week for our 5th graders. Remind them to get a good night's sleep and some breakfast to do their best.

2) This week is our Read-A-Thon. Help your child fill out their Read-A-Thon card and celebrate reading in many ways.

America is turning 250 — and our students have something to say.
Davis School District is hosting Voices of a Nation: Student Perspectives on 250 Years of America, a districtwide speaking event aligned with America 250 Utah.
Students from every school and grade level are invited to apply to deliver an original speech about America’s past, present or future.
Selected students will receive mentorship and take the stage on May 4, 2026, at the Davis Instructional Services Center in Layton. The event will be professionally produced and live streamed for the community.
You don’t have to be famous to have something worth saying.
Take the mic. Share your idea. Be part of the story.

Here are the 3 things to know for the week of March 2nd, 2026.
1) This week is Kindness Week. Our Hope Squad is leading this effort to help our students show kindness to each other throughout the week.
2) We are celebrating our classified employees this week by showing them appreciation. If you get the chance to say, “Thank you!” to any of any these employees, please do. This includes our Teacher Aids, Lunchroom Supports, and Recess Safeties, just to name a few of these important supportive roles at our school.
3) Parent Teacher Association Meeting is Friday March 6th at 9:15 AM in the SIPPS room. We hope to see you there.
