We want to congratulate all of our Book Battle participants and thank Mrs. Hill (school library specialist) for leading the teams. Cook was represented well at the district competition, and we are especially proud of our 4th grade team for placing second out of 25 teams. Wowza! This week, three special performances of our school play will be held. Ticket information is included in the newsletter, including a way to buy them online. Special thanks to Mrs. Gardner (6th grade teacher) for directing the musical, along with the other amazing adults who stepped up to help. Yesterday was the Davis School District STEM Fair and Kynlee represented our school. She presented a fantastic project titled, "Does smell affect taste?" Way to go, Kynlee!

This is Kindness Week at Cook Elementary. Our Hope Squad has planned some fun activities throughout the week with a kindness focus. In addition to the Hope Squad students, we also need to express a special thank you to their advisors (Miss Amanda, Ms. Martindale, Ms. Pedersen and Mrs. Read) and our art teacher (Mrs. Stewart) for supporting Kindness Week. This last week our community has really pulled through and donated a lot! Thank you for your support! We are still short of our goal, so we'll extend the drive through the weekend and announce the winner at the end of the school day on Monday.
