On Friday, February 20th, Cook Elementary proudly hosted its annual School Spelling Bee for 4th through 6th grade students. After weeks of classroom competitions, 30 students advanced from their classroom bees to compete at the school level, showcasing their hard work, preparation, and courage.
After several exciting rounds, we are thrilled to announce this year’s winners:
🥇 1st Place: Noah, 5th grade
🥈 2nd Place: Cordelia, 6th grade
🥉 3rd Place: Kaden, 5th grade
These three outstanding spellers will move on to the semi-final round next month for a chance to qualify for the district final bee at the end of April. We are so proud of their achievement and wish them the best of luck as they prepare for the next level of competition!
A special thank you goes to our judges, School Counselor Ms. Amanda and retired Cook Elementary teacher Mrs. Pettit, for their time and thoughtful attention throughout the event. We also appreciate our wonderful pronouncer, Librarian Mrs. Lynne, who was a friendly, reassuring presence for students as they approached the microphone.
Many attendees shared that their favorite part of the spelling bee was not just the competition itself, but the incredible sportsmanship displayed by our students. Participants cheered one another on, offered hugs and words of encouragement after tough rounds, and truly demonstrated kindness and respect. Their support for each other was a powerful example of Cook Cougar spirit in action.
We are so proud of all 30 students who represented their classrooms so well. Congratulations to everyone who participated, and best of luck to our finalists as they continue their spelling journey!
