Mrs. Crook Award

Our amazing Special Education Teacher Assistant, Mrs. Crook, was recently honored by Davis District Board of Education for her dedication.

Brenda Crook is a stellar member of the Cook Elementary staff and community. She cares deeply about her students and is a master at building strong relationships. Brenda consistently goes above and beyond what the typical Special Education Teacher Assistant is willing and able to do. She can step in at a moment's notice to de-escalate a challenging student, teach a difficult lesson, console an upset teacher, or greet a new family with a warm smile. She is an incredibly important member of our school team. We could not successfully meet the needs of our IEP-eligible kiddos without her support. Brenda is lovingly called "Grandma" by students throughout the school. They all love her and trust her, even those who don't work directly with her. We're thrilled she earned the TAPT Scholarship and is now enrolled in a Teacher Education program at Weber State University. Brenda is ready to add to her skills and become a full-time teacher in the near future. She will be the most amazing first year teacher in the district because she is already so prepared. Any school would be lucky to have Mrs. Crook , and there is not a more deserving person to receive this honor from Davis School Board.
